Bricktown Accessibility Review

A team of IQC staff and College of Architecture students worked with Downtown OKC, Inc. and Bricktown stakeholders to identify improvements to accessibility along the Bricktown Canal.

Working in collaboration with Downtown OKC, Inc., the IQC team conducted work in Oklahoma City’s Bricktown to examine accessibility and walkability around the district’s signature canal. The Bricktown Canal presents unique challenges for accessibility. The canal has commercial frontage at both the canal level and the street level, creating a need for stairs, ramps, elevators, and bridges. The 3-day project prioritized possible locations for enhanced access and made other suggestions related to wayfinding and public restrooms. Daily photo galleries and recaps are available here:
